MEET JILL

Oh heyyy

I’m jill

she/they

Sweary, but not scary.
Wise elder emo.
Technicolour memelord.
Chicken nugget connoisseur.

Based in a leafy inner-north suburb of Meanjin / Brisbane, living my best life with my girlfriend Charlie (she/her) and our two cats, Lou & Zola (tiny chaotic overlords).

I’ve had a camera in my hands since I was 13 and honestly… I never really put it down.

After years working in art and boudoir photography, I shot a close friend’s destination elopement in 2018 and went,
“oh. this is it.”

That was the moment I realised what I actually care about:

real people, real connection, and real moments.

My vibe (outside of photography)

I’m a creative wildcard with:

• a foul mouth
• a deep love of musical theatre (yes I will absolutely talk about it with you)
• a very specific attachment to 2004–2006 pop-punk
• a mild-to-concerning true crime obsession

I’m inspired by:

• spooky witchy goth shit
• colourful chaos
• nature doing its thing

Also — I like animals more than people, and I will absolutely get distracted by a dog at your wedding.

What matters to me

I’m a big believer in inclusive, body-neutral photography.

That means:

• no judgement
• no pressure to look or act a certain way
• no weird wedding industry expectations

Whether you're LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, queer, GNC, neurodivergent, or just a lover of glitter — you’re safe here.

If the idea of being photographed makes you want to disappear into the void — hi, you’re my target audience.

Life is too short.

Have a fucking rad time

What I’m like to have at your wedding

Think of me as:

• the calm presence when things feel chaotic
• the person hyping you up when you need it
• the one quietly capturing all the weird, emotional, blink-and-you-miss-it moments

I won’t take over your day.
I won’t make you perform.

I’ll just guide you when needed and let the rest unfold naturally.

My people

Most of my couples are:

• awkward in front of cameras
• alternative, queer, nerdy, or a bit weird
• not into traditional wedding vibes

Perfect.

A lot of my clients are also neurodivergent, so I keep things clear, low-pressure, and easy to follow.

No confusing directions.
No overwhelming energy.
No expectations to “act natural”.

You already are.

My photography style

I focus on real moments first.

The laughs.
The chaos.
The quiet in-between stuff.

Then I mix in a small amount of editorial-style portraits — the kind that feel a bit dramatic, a bit romantic, and slightly iconic.

So you get:

• photos that feel like your day
• and photos that feel like art

The short version

If you want a photographer who:

• makes things feel easy
• doesn’t make you feel awkward
• and genuinely gets your vibe

we’re probably going to get along really well.

Jill made us feel comfortable every step of the way, from the initial enquiry, through to the day of the shoot and selection of final photos. I usually hate being in front of the camera and I absolutely hate when photoshoots feel rigid and forced; but with Jill's keen eye, gentle guidance and witty yet calming nature,

her photos reflect how fun and full of love the day was.
